  Ciao a tutti booklovers, oggi concludiamo quel buco nero che è la serie di The Last Hours con Chain of Thorns, di Cassandra Clare.

RECENSIONE: 

Cari lettori... non so da dove iniziare. Questo libro è un orrore, che può essere usato solo per descrizione in Creative Writing 101, della serie "non scrivete questi libri".

Necessariamente ci saranno spoiler sui libri precedenti, Chain of Gold e Chain of Iron.

Eravamo rimasti alla cara Cordelia che fuggiva con Matthew a Parigi, conscia che il suo matrimonio con James stesse crollando (a parte che era già falso). Nel mentre James si è accorto di cosa gli abbia fatto il braccialetto datogli da Grace, il Gracelet, e la insegue. Peccato che trova lei e Matthew impegnati ad amoreggiare.

Non è un mistero che preferisca Matthew a James, ma il fatto che Math sia stato usato solo come device per creare angst tra James e Cordelia mi fa imbestialire! Tra l'altro, questo orrore di angst tra i tre dura quasi 800 pagine, sì ottocento di drammi alla Beautiful. quando quello che tutti vorremmo vedere sono le battaglie tra i ragazzi e i demoni.

Lo stile della Clare non mi è mai piaciuto più di tanto, ma in questo libro tocca dei picchi davvero allucinanti... come il numero di pagine.

Non parliamo dei villain, perché Tatiana e Belial... sono ridicoli.

Gli altri personaggi sono inutili: Lucie e Jesse sono troppo predictable (io avrei firmato per vedere Jesse fare da spia a Tatiana e aver sempre ingannato Lucie); Thomas, Alastair, Anna e Ariadne sono i classici token gay characters messi lì solo per la rappresentazione, non perché le minoranze ci stanno davvero a cuore e li si vuole dare anche la giusta esaltazione.

Kit e Grace... sono gli unici due che si salvano, oltre a Matthew, ma la morte di Kit... lasciamo stare. Sono ancora arrabbiata, anche perché è stata messo come momento shock, ma questo libro è talmente senza senso che i personaggi manco piangono.

Se The Wicked Powers è così, piango al solo pensiero di come possa finire la mia ship Drusilla Blackthorn-Ash Morgenstern (Jaime Rosales non mi piace per niente).
