RECENSIONE:
Ogni sette anni, inizia l'Agon. Nove dei greci sono obbligati a diventare mortali in seguito a un'antica ribellione per essere cacciati dai discendenti di antiche stirpi di sangue, vogliosi di ucciderli e così ottenere l'immortalità. Melora "Lore" Perseus è l'unica discendente rimasta della casa Perseus, sterminata da una linea rivale, il cui capo è ora un dio.
Quando ritroverà, durante l'Agon appena iniziato, una ferita Atena sulla soglia della sua casa, si ritroverà, insieme all'amico d'infanzia Castor, a rientrare nella competizione, per vendicare la morte della sua famiglia, dopo aver fatto un patto con la dea.
Lore è un romanzo con una grande idea, che definirei un misto tra Hunger Games e Percy Jackson, con un tocco romance di Starcrossed, ma purtroppo eseguita malino. Lo stile della Bracken lo conoscevo già e non mi ha fatto impazzire, ma questa non era una novità. Tuttavia la lettura è estremamente godibile, anche se i temi trattati sono decisamente dark.
Melora mi è piaciuta come protagonista, e in generale la sua relazione con Castor mi ha soddisfatta. In verità la più grande pecca che ho trovato in questo libro è che i personaggi sono tutti bidimensionali, non c'è una vera sfaccettatura.
