Ciao a tutti booklovers, bentornati su The Bookish Scorpio. Oggi vi propongo la recensione di un libro letto il mese scorso per la mia Fairyloot ReadAlong, cioè This Golden Flame di Emily Victoria, presente SOLO in lingua inglese.

RECENSIONE:
Questo libro è uno standalone fantasy con un concetto molto interessante, quello di uno Scriptorium che governa le isole, strette tra due continenti, dove la nostra protagonista Karis vive.
Già da pagina 5 si può capire che questo romanzo sarà molto pesante: Karis ogni volta continua a ripeterci ogni tre righe quanto le manchi il fratello eccetera eccetera.
La parte si fa più interessante quando conosciamo Alix, il nostro protagonista maschile. Lui è un automa con un cuore molto umano, tanto che mi ha suscitato tenerezza lungo tutta la lettura.
Questo non salva tutta la trama, che risulta sconclusionata e piena di buchi.
L'unica cosa che si salva è lo stile, molto scorrevole, e il personaggio di Alix l'automa.
Tutto il resto da bocciare
