RECENSIONE:

Avery West è una giovane ragazza statunitense con gli occhi viola e i capelli castani (ricordatevelo perchè è importante nell'opera) che ha appena scoperto la vera natura di suo padre. Lui è un membro di The Circle, una societa segreta simil massoneria che crede che Avery sia la chiave a un'antica profezia, che coinvolge il discendente di Alessandro il Grande (Alexander the Great). Alcuni la vogliono usare come esca. Altri la vogliono vedere morta.

Avery si trova a collaborare con Jack Bishop, un ragazzo inglese, custode dei Saxons, la famiglia a cui si crede Avery appartenga, e Stellan Korolev, un ragazzo russo, membro della famiglia più importante del Circle. Ma i due nascondono segreti oscuri e antichi...

Lo stile di Maggie Hall è scorrevole e ammaliante; ho divorato le pagine in un solo giorno, perchè ero affascinata dalla particolarità della storia, che ricordava quasi un Codice Da Vinci teen. I personaggi sono carini, ma nulla di memorabile; preferisco la complessità e il personaggio grigio di Stellan che Jack, il classico bravo ragazzo (ma non troppo). Avery è una protagonista media, nulla di clamoroso, ma mi sono appassionata alle sue avventure.

In generale, nonostante il triangolo amoroso, una godibile avventura originale, perfetta per evadere un po'.
