Non c'è nulla da fare... questa serie purtroppo non é per me.

La verità è che gli uomini troppo possessivi non fanno per me... e Josh Chen non è da meno.

Se mi seguite, sapete delle mie disavventure con il protagonista maschile di Twisted Games, Rhys Larsen, che aveva detto una frase troppo sessista, misogina e denigratoria, davvero too much. Beh, Josh Chen è forse anche peggio, il che è tutto dire.

La protagonista principale, Jules, non mi è piaciuta (Josh non ve lo dico neanche), e in generale la trama mi è sembrata molto annacquata con moltoo, mooltoo spicy.

Ripeto, i demoni del passato non giustificano le azioni che poi andiamo a fare: lo so che è molto da moralista, ma è così.

Insomma, alla fine è un non-libro di romance erotica.

Manca un libro, che io, disgraziata, ho già preso e che quindi leggerò.

RECENSIONE:

Ci troviamo in un futuro non specificato, dove umani e Lunari (alieni dalla Luna, o meglio, umani trapiantati sulla Luna con poteri) convivono... non in pace. Infatti, una piaga lunare, la Letumosi, imperversa sul pianeta, uccidendo molte persone. I Lunari, guidati dalla perfida Regina Levana, attendono di vedere i nemici indeboliti per conquistarli.

Ci troviamo nel Commonwealth asiatico, a Nuova Pechino: lì vive Linh Cinder, una giovane cyborg, molto preparata in meccanica, vessata dalla sorellastra e dalla matrigna. Quando al mercato incontra il principe Kai, figlio dell'Imperatore Rikan, la ragazza non crede ai suoi occhi. Essendo un cyborg, è ritenuta cittadina di Serie B, ed è sconvolta quando il principe si interessa a lei. 

I due formano un'amicizia, nascosta alla matrigna Adri. Le uniche amiche che ha sono Iko, una robottina, e la sorellastra Peony, di quattordici anni. Quando Peony muore per la letumosi, Cinder viene venduta per sperimentazione sulla malattia.

Ma è immune, come i Lunari.

Cosa nasconde Cinder?

Questa moderna fiaba mi ha conquistata: nonostante le tante pagine, ho letto con piacere questo romanzo, un retelling di Cenerentola in salsa asiatica. In più, ci sono gli alieni e i cyborg, cosa vuoi di più?

I personaggi mi sono tutti piaciuti e mi sono sembrati coerenti con il loro ruolo (a parte Kai, che è un po' tonto per essere un principe). 

Non vedo l'ora di continuare con Scarlet, il secondo, perché il finale è troppo aperto e io vorrei sapere...

RECENSIONE:

Sappiamo tutti cosa è successo. Poppy ha scoperto che Hawke non è altro che Casteel Da'Neer, il principe degli Atlantian, una specie simile ai vampiri (Atlantide + vampiri = I'm in) e che suo fratello Ian è Asceso.

Poppy lo sta cercando, ma purtroppo si ritrova ad affidarsi a Casteel per trovarlo. L'attrazione tra i due non è del tutto svanita, anzi, e Poppy si ritrova a scoprire tante cose, anche su sé stessa, che non avrebbe mai immaginato.

Mentre sta per scoppiare una guerra, e tutte le varie fazioni si rivoltano contro Poppy, che cosa farà la nostra eroina? E soprattutto, che cosa farà nei confronti di Cas?

Questo libro è stato troppo. In positivo. La verità è che il finale del primo libro mi ha dato un colpo pesante, e quindi non vedevo l'ora di continuare. Ma questo libro è migliore del primo, decisamente. (Poi dal terzo è tutto un disastro, ma fa niente)

Lo stile non risulta pesante, anche se è un mattone di libro, e le pagine scorrono con piacere, lasciandoti la voglia di continuare. Scopriamo cose su Poppy che io sinceramente non immaginavo, anche se il suo vero nome (Penellaphe, Poppy è un soprannome) dava un suggerimento. Il finale è shock, peggio del primo, e non so cosa dire. 

Leggete subito il terzo, se potete.

RECENSIONE:

Signori, la verità è che mi stava piacendo. Non un libro della vita, ma una lettura tranquilla e interessante.

E poi... è arrivata quella frase. Ma partiamo con ordine.

Bridget Von Ascheberg è una principessa. Spera di poter vivere libera, anche se è praticamente obbligata a un matrimonio di convenienza, a causa del suo ruolo, e soprattutto al trono, dato il fatto che suo fratello ha abdicato. Rhys Larsen è il suo bodyguard. Entrambi si sono innamorati.

Mi sono piaciuti i personaggi principali, soprattutto Bridget. La sua simpatia e voglia di libertà è contagiosa, e l'ho percepita un personaggio molto "tridimensionale". Rhys mi stava piacendo...

E qui arriviamo al punto.

La frase. Ve la traduco io.

"In pubblico sei la mia principessa. In privato, sei la mia p..."

Io, miei cari, sono I-N-O-R-R-I-D-I-T-A.

Nessun uomo può permettersi di chiamarmi così, e secondo, io non sono la p... di nessuno.

Io sono io, e valgo. Punto.

Per questo mi sentivo male a continuare il libro, e sono stata male di stomaco nel continuare a leggerlo.

Hence, direbbero gli inglesi, il mio rating.

Se amate questi trope, leggetelo. Ma se siete delle femministe sfegatate, come me, NO.
